I’m officially official!

I’m so excited! My website is live and it’s new & improved! It has grown from a do-it-yourself web design to contracting someone else to do a little more. She did a great job considering I didn’t give her much to work with. For I was at a loss for knowing what I was doing or what I wanted to be. There was no way I could have gotten to where I am now, and she told me as much.

While working with my coach Cassandra Washington, I became clear on my brand and my audience. This information was given to Tamlyn Design, and she went to a whole new level to produce this professional site.

Life Transitions Can Create New Excitement

I love how the photo on the home page transitions to show all of the books I’ve currently written or been featured in. When I sit back in my chair and watch it, I feel such a sense of accomplishment. It seems like the word ‘transition’ should be my middle name considering everything that I’ve been through lately.

Just over the last five years, I went from happily married to watching my husband die of cancer. I was single again with little desire to do anything more than what was needed to get by. Then Cassandra Washington came into my life along with an opportunity to co-author in an anthology. Through that process alone, I rediscovered my passion to write. Since then, well, you’ve seen the books. And there’s more just waiting to be written. It has been a dream come true.

Sometimes Life Should Be Easy… and Fun!

Curious about what I’ve written lately? Well, my new website makes it easy for my readers to access and read my blogs. I love that the most recent ones are featured on my home page. The site is clean, professional and well-organized. I hope this new design drives more readers to my site!

Keep your eyes peeled to read a blog about my adventures going down a water slide with my grandkids, or traveling on the west coast via Amtrak. Life is all about fun, and I love sharing it with you.

Being a Kid is Cool, But Being a Grown Up ROCKS!

I love my new logo! It’s professional and makes me feel important and grown up. I know that sounds strange for a 55 year old to say, but I’ve had to do a lot of grown-up things in the last year or so.

In the last 12 months, I relocated to a new city, and then decided to stay even when my family was transferred to a new job, out of state. I stayed behind because I am stronger now and have more faith in myself. I’m also actively serving God in a local church while learning about new opportunities.

After writing, revising, reading feedback, getting scared, and rewriting for six months, I finished my first Kindle book, 5 Simple Ways to Love Gay Christians.  This book includes seven loving responses you can use when a loved one comes out as gay; along with thirty additional resources for you and your loved ones. You will be encouraged in your walk with God.

And to top it off, I worked 5 consecutive weeks in my part-time job, a driver with a ride-share company. I’ve earned much more money than I would in a traditional job. Not only does it give me the flexibility needed to like to write more blogs, books, and novelettes, but new material lands in my lap every day. I’d say being a grown up is pretty cool.

The More Positive You Look For, The More You Find

Some of you may recognize the red barn on the ‘About Sue’ page. It on my very first website and represents things that are familiar, along with lasting memories. Although the barn is no longer standing on my parent’s property, the photo gives us a gentle reminder of the importance of character. You’ll also notice the red background on my homepage as the siding on the barn.

The colors throughout the website were selected to appeal to anyone who happens upon my site. As most of you know I’m not a girl-y girl, so being donned with laces and pink flowers is not my cup of tea. Nor is camouflage and photos of guns something I like, which would make this site too masculine. I stayed with gender neutral colors, to make sure everyone feels welcomed.

You’ll also find my latest e-book, 5 Simple Ways to Love Gay Christians. I’ve made it easy for you to download because a pop-up window appears on the home page. This allows you to quickly enter your name and email. By the time you tab over to your inbox, your free e-book will be waiting. You can start reading it today.

The resource page has a cleaner, refreshed look. It shows books I have written and reviewed along with my Comfort Bags and a link to Creative Memories scrapbooking products. Plus, you can check out all the custom designed products I designed in my online store!

Yes! I’m super-excited about my new website. I can’t wait for you to check it out and tell me what you think.

About the Author:

My name is Susan W (sue) Corbran. I am a writer, a Creative Memories consultant, a volunteer in Children's Ministry at my church, and an advocate for widows and gay Christians. I love helping people - whether it is by sharing my stories; consulting with others on how to preserve their most precious memories - photos and ways to tell their stories; or helping children learn about God - and for them to know that He loves them, no matter what! I am a Mom and a Grandma. I love to golf, travel, read, and listen to music (and play the piano and guitar, when available - simple songs!). Oh and I love to write - so be sure to read some of my blogs. I am a co-author of the book Emerge: Real Stories of Courage and Truth, An Amazon Best Seller, 2015, along with The Call to Soar, an Amazon Best Seller, 2016. An author of the ebook Five Simple Ways to Love Gay Christians You Need to Know Now, 2017, and other numerous blogs and articles for magazine contests. This year, 2017, I plan to publish a series of books for young adult (ages 9-14) in the genre of Christian Life. I also hope to publish a book of childhood memories (to share with my grandchildren). My hope is that God willl be praised and glorified by my writing for Him.
