About Sue Corbran
Sue is a featured author of “The Call to Soar“, an Amazon Best Seller in October 2016, which is the third book in the “Strengthen Your Wings” series. Writing an expanded chapter on the importance of being loved and accepted, Sue discovered the benefit of sharing her voice to help others in their own journey. She continues to write content for blogs, articles and contests.
Sue is also a co-author of “Emerge: Real Stories of Courage and Truth“, an Amazon Best Seller in September 2015, which is the second book in the “Strengthen Your Wings” series. In the chapter, “Finding My Way”, she describes how she emerged as a writer after the loss of her husband. In the course of writing this chapter, she developed a website (suecorbran.com) where she continues to encourage others along life’s journey. Plus, she put gathered together several items (journal, CD, devotion book, handkerchief, and pen) and named it a Comfort Bag – for widows or grieving parents. The bags can be purchased on her website. [put link & image in here]
Along with her love of writing, Sue has a passion for children’s ministry. With her B.A. in Elementary Education from Mount Union College in 1983, she has been able to implement many of the same techniques into the Sunday school classrooms with her position as “Director of Children’s Ministry”. Children of all ages have enjoyed spending time in her programs over the years, from weekly classes to summer field trips. Sue drew much respect during one Vacation Bible School program when she swallowed a chocolate-covered live grasshopper, as part of a challenge to raise money for the designated mission.
To others, Sue is known as someone who loves to travel, mainly off the beaten path, to places she has yet to explore. She prefers a paper map over a GPS, and enjoys taking photos of the scenery and architecture. One summer she went on a two-day tour of the Great Lakes by herself and enjoyed a two-hour ferry ride across the Georgian Bay. Another time, she and a friend drove to San Francisco from Reno in someone else’s rental car. Yes, the stories she can tell. She is currently working on a book titled “Around Robin Hood’s Barn”, which features many of the places she has traveled over the years.
Sue was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom for over thirty years, though she did enjoy some part-time jobs off and on, including as a substitute teacher, a flower deliverer, and a consultant in several home-based businesses. She has lived in several areas including – Meadville, PA; Canton, OH; Atlanta, GA; and Charlotte, NC. She is mom to three adult children: Amy (Husband Larry with children: Natalie, Alyssa, Lauren, Noah), Michael (wife Cara), Sarah (husband Justin) and three adult step-children: Alicia (husband Joel, daughter Rylee), Heather (boyfriend Cecil, daughter Aaliyah), Jennifer (boyfriend Tyler). Along with a few grand-dogs and a grand-cat.
